[2022-04-15] The Technical Room will now be using this category to lead the discussions of information exchange use cases and examination of other domain data schemas and exchange methodologies to inform and catalog the functional requirements for the next generation of IFC/openBIM.
These discussions should look past “tweaking” the existing IFC data schema and technical specification and think bigger picture, focusing on broader end user needs and opportunities for information/data creation, use, and exchange in the built asset industry. The technical discussion will take place after the Technical Room leaders feel a set of viable, coherent, and robust functional requirements has been solidified and documented.
