IFC Tunnel part of the next wave of IFC Infrastructure extensions:

IFC Tunnel Expert Panel

Monday 5th July - 14:00 CEST

Part of the next wave of Infrastructure domain projects that seek to extend IFC beyond the upcoming IFC 4.3 release. IFC Tunnel will introduce an IFC schema extension for underground construction engineering and operating systems management. It will also enhance common elements for all infrastructure domains, in particular the geotechnical domain in a soil-structure interaction context. The project is developing rapidly and is benefitting from the strong support of the International Tunneling Association.

On July 5th at 14:00 CEST, The Project Team will host the 3rd Expert Panel Meeting of the IFC-Tunnel project. The Team will present the first outcomes of Phase 2 with a focus on the basic concepts such as Coordinate Reference Systems, Geometry Representations, and Spatial Structure. The event will also include a brief update on the Taxonomy developments conducted by the three domain-expert groups: Geotechnics, Excavation & System.

Before the Expert Panel, draft documentation will be made available for registrants to review.

We look forward to seeing you in the next few weeks.

I attended todays very interessting Expert Panel, thank you very much for the update on your work! Is there an example of how the spatial structures of a tunnel and a railway project are intended to be used together?
Best regards
