Hi,
IDS have been develloped to check the quality of data inside IFC. But, it only focus on the data and not 3D data. With the IDS Facet, we now have a standardized way to select for object in model.
I know that we can call for IfcRelation with the IDS, but right now it’s not used a lot, and all relation does not merit to be written in the IFC file. The 3D data already give that information but it must be query.
Catalog of 3D Facet
Do we have a catalog of clash rule, that gather all of them and give them a proper definition.

- Check Above Object
- Check Front of Object
- Check for Parralel Object
- ….
The list of relative position can go one with specific edge case every where. I am pretty sure that we can understand different thing, if it’s not shared by everyone. For now 3D Detection is specific to each software.
If i push a little bit futher, we could imagine an IDS VX (or another format), that could query IFC model like that.
- All Lamp that are above a table must at least 10 in property Power
I tried to look for info, but found nothing on clash detection and standardization.
