Check for duplicates using the bsDD Rest API

Hi All,

I would like to know how to check for duplicates when publishing concepts in the bsDD over the Rest API?

Also, is there a general consensus that all duplicate concepts in the bsDD should be merged? Is this sort of clean up needed?
