Materials of a Composite Profile

Hallo,
How is it possible to assign different materials to different components of a composite profile? (Ifc2x3, IfcCompositeProfileDef)

The RelatedObject in IfcRelAssociatesMaterial accepts only objects of IfcRoot types, and IfcProfileDef is not.

I’m wondering if it is possible at all to accurately exchange the correct material information of a T-Beam that has a concrete flange and a steel web at a profile definition level - instead of associating materials to the whole IfcBeam.

It is specified in IfcMaterialProfileSet via the MaterialProfiles attribute. The CompositeProfile is merely a shortcut to get all the profiledefs combined into one.
