Hello,
I would like ask what exactly is OverallHeight, please? Is it Height A, B, C, D or E?
Itâs height B (see https://ifc43-docs.standards.buildingsmart.org/IFC/RELEASE/IFC4x3/HTML/lexical/IfcDoor.htm)
Thanks for the reply @Dieter-Hubertson. I checked some manufacturers and their specifications, and they use different dimension for Overall Height.
Hello @PepaR,
After reading the IFC documentation again, I understand the confusion. âThe doorâ could be a combination of the panel AND its casing (frame), not just the door panel itself, although this is not explicitly described that way. Therefore, the opening in the wall is filled with both the door panel AND the casing. The OverallHeight refers to the IFCOpeningElement in the wall. Therefore, âHeight Eâ is the correct answer.
I wouldnât refer to âheight Câ, as this refers to the recess around the rectangular opening required for the door and its frame.
